BIO
A multilingual Montrealer, Amir used to be a lawyer; but then he got better. Since deciding to return to his lifelong love of theatre – a love he acquired while treading the boards at his performing arts high school - he has appeared as an actor in numerous films and television series, including 19-2, X-Men: Dark Phoenix and Random Acts of Violence, and has lent his vocal and motion-capture talents to several video games and voice-over projects, including Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Amir is an unrepentant theatre nerd. On stage, he has worked with the Segal Centre, Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal, Black Theatre Workshop, Tableau d’Hôte Theatre, Teesri Dunya Theatre and Infinithéâtre. He was a member of Black Theatre Workshop’s 2016-2017 Artist Mentorship Program ensemble and participated in the DémART-MTL program through the Conseil des arts de Montréal, in collaboration with Centaur Theatre. In 2019, he joined the board of Playwrights’ Workshop Montreal and produced his first play, Mon Main-Man, at the Festival tout’ tout court.
He believes true performance is rooted in a sublimation of the Self in service of the mainline that connects the writer’s words and the director’s vision to the audience’s eyes and ears. He aspires to work diligently, honestly and joyfully.
